Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Casa del Plátano as a 'hidden gem' offering an educational and peaceful experience. The museum is well-presented with informative displays, and the mini-plantation provides a lovely, serene environment. The value for money is highlighted, especially with the included fresh banana and the opportunity to taste local products.

"Well worth a visit if you are in the area. We spent about an hour here which was well worth it for €5 per person. Museum and a small banana plantation that is both peaceful and educational"

Mark Wigmore

"Great gem about the history of banana plantations in the Canary Islands. This is worth 30-40 minutes, as their signage in English and Spanish is very informative. It's perhaps four museum rooms, a courtyard with machinery, then a mini plantation to see the banana trees up close. The €5 admission included a banana to snack on, and they also have clean toilets. Very nice experience and well worth your time to understand a little more of its history."

Becky T

"This is one of the best museums I've ever been too. A perfectly done exposition gives you some hints on banana's history in a social and local context. You have a wonderful mini plantation to get to know more about the cultivation of this fruit.
Besides, each entrance ticket includes a banana from there! At the exit you can taste some banana liquor or wine (yes, banana wine). You just can't miss it.
The lady who received us was a wonderful host! Thank you so much."
