"Former monastery/convent of different religious orders: Jerónimos, Capuchinos, it finally passed into the hands of the Poor Clares who founded the Convent of the Purísima Concepción de Franciscanas Descalzas in the 16th century through the mediation of Bishop Don Melchor de Soria y Vera.
It is currently known as Convento de las Bernardas for having enjoyed the protection of Cardinal Bernardo de Sandoval.
