Josep Pla

"If there is one route that I never tire of doing by bike, it is the Sèquia de Manresa. It is one of those that has it all: nature, history, tranquility and a landscape that makes you disconnect from everything. It really is a treat.
It all starts in Balsareny, right next to the castle, where the canal takes in the water from the Llobregat. From here, the path gently winds for about 26 km until you reach Manresa, passing through fields, forests and corners that seem like they came straight out of a fairy tale. The best part? There is almost no difference in elevation, so it is ideal for doing it at a leisurely pace, whether you are going alone or with family or friends.
But the Sèquia is not just nature. It is a brutal piece of engineering from the 14th century. Imagine: it was built almost 700 years ago to bring water to Manresa, and it still works today. It is like pedaling over a piece of living history. And along the way you come across old farmhouses, stone bridges, tunnels, and even some stretches where it seems like time has stopped.
For me, the Sèquia is a jewel of Bages. A place to breathe, think, enjoy… and feel part of this territory. Every time I do it, I return home with a fuller heart."

Carles Touriño Camprubi

"It's a good route, without unevenness and passing through places with a lot of history
What has bothered me are the brainless people who have painted all the posters with black paint, I don't understand you"
