What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Las Negras for its stunning location within Cabo de Gata and its charming, bohemian village atmosphere, making it a great spot for dining and enjoying sunsets. However, the main beach's rocky nature and a 'no bathing' sign are noted drawbacks, with many recommending nearby sandy beaches for swimming.
"This may seem harsh but in terms of the 'beach' itself, I am going 3 stars. The location itself is gorgeous, there are some super restaurants and other facilities.
But the beach is not great. Rocky, quite small and a big sign that says 'no bathing' in Spanish. There are numerous sandy beaches with 5-10 mins drive so for sunbathing, paddling or a game of volleyball etc I would be aiming for one of them.
For a nice lunch, this is a great spot."

"Nice beach, but there are a lot of rocks, so not very comfortable. Great views to the mountains. Central part is occupied with fishing boats.
There are several restaurants nearby as well as minimarket. There is a big open parkin nearby as well."
Laimonas Guiga
"Was looking forward to visiting playa de las negras.
The last time I visited was 7 years ago, how it has developed into a rubbish strewn beach I don't know. The date I visited was 02/07/2025, the beach was fairly empty. Not worth the drive.
There are better beaches near by."
