":) The newest and so far most functional and connected pedestrian bridge in the City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Very nice to walk at night with the lights of the nearby Poems del Mar Aquarium lit up and the Port and City. Very Functional as it serves persons of disability. Connected as it ties two of the best bicycle trails routes in the City and as well the most available and affordable parking areas in the North Peninsula of the City to quick beach access. Parking at the East side of this bridge averages €2.50 / day per car vs. €20 per day and up on the West and Playa Las Canteras beach side. This pedestrian bridge connects over top the extremely busy and dangerous GC-1 highway of 3 lanes each direction running North to South underneath. Prior to this pedestrian bridge being installed you would have to walk upwards of an extra 6km round-trip from parking on this side of the busy highway if you wanted to access the beach on the opposite side. The City of Las Palmas requires so so so many more handicapped capable pedestrian connections and sidewalks to make the City pedestrian friendly. This bridge is hopefully another spark to keep civic projects people focused and not car focused. This pedestrian bridge also allows for an additional 6km of rarely interrupted bicycle lanes from car traffic and provides finally a safe option to cross the GC -1 highway in the North of the City and brings safer Pedestrian access to sites in the North Peninsula. Well done. 5 of 5 stars."

"Functional and necessary, yes. But they could have made this much more special, and convert it to something visitors would want to come to this area just to see it. A greener garden, with larger leafier trees, for starters, instead of the usual cacti and palm trees. There's so much wall space. Blank and terribly boring. A mural all along the bridge would do wonders. They could invite the best local graffiti artists to come up with ideas, for example.
A huge disappointment for a marvellous could-have-been sexy construction."
