What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests appreciate the unique historical Roman bath ruins and the scenic riverfront location. However, some find the hotel dated, the food lacking, and the spa treatments pricey. The uphill walk to the city is also a consideration for many visitors.
"We only visited the mineral baths so I cannot comment on the rooms.
The hotel is somewhat dated but it is clean, light and airy and the service is efficient and friendly.
The spa itself offers a variety of treatments and the staff come across as happy and very friendly.
We enjoyed a 90 minute classic spa experience and loved it!"

"Arrived off a late flight to find the hotel locked up and the duty manager asleep. Despite sending a detailed booking in advance, it took almost 20 minutes to find our booking and fill in numerous forms. Rooms were joyless and poorly decorated. Bathrooms were a very poor standard. For a spa/wellness hotel the food was of an extremely poor nutritional standard. This is not a hotel for an experienced traveller, because all the usual facilities are totally absent. This hotel rests its laurels on the ancient Roman baths that it was built over. Located on the river by the old historic Roman footbridge, the views are a saving grace. This also means that it is a very long walk uphill into the ancient walled Roman city, so be prepared to call a taxi. This sadly is only a 2 * hotel by any degree of measurement. Aim low and you will not over-shoot with this hotel."

"Somewhere to chill. Nice people at the Hotel. Spa a bit pricey so have taken walks and a jog around the river and short walks into the city. Weather has been fantastic with only small showers here and there. Lovely room on the 4th floor with fantastic views over looking the river."
