Reviews Summary
Dans le Noir? Madrid offers a truly unique and memorable sensory dining experience, praised for its immersive darkness and the exceptional service provided by visually impaired staff. While the food is generally good, the real magic lies in the heightened senses and the empathy fostered by the concept. Some minor service hiccups or food quality concerns have been noted, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending it as a must-do in Madrid.
"Dans Le Noir ? in Madrid is one of those experiences that stays with you. It’s part of a chain that started in Paris and now has locations in several countries—all based on the idea of dining completely in the dark, guided by visually impaired staff.
We went to the one near Plaza del Biombo, where you choose how many courses you want, but not what you’re eating—everything is a surprise. We chose a degustation menu with drink pairings which was delicious.
Our waiter, Sam, was charming, funny, and made us feel totally at ease from the start. He guided us into the pitch black room and somehow managed to serve food and wine smoothly without ever bumping into anything. And he kept us laughing all the way through. A total legend who has been working at this branch since its start.
What stood out most was the feeling of being on a mini adventure. Not seeing anything sharpens everything else—flavors, textures, even the way you talk to the people around you. And because it’s Spain, it didn’t feel isolating in the dark. We could hear conversations from nearby tables, chatted with the group next to us, and the whole place had this warm, buzzing energy despite being in total darkness.
It’s not a traditional night out, and that’s the point. The whole thing pushes you out of your routine in the best way. Great"

"The waitress was great, friendly and supportive.
The quality of the food is good but not amazing.
In my case one of the organisers was rude to me because she thought I made a picture which I didn’t. I told her I didn’t but she kept going blaming me to a point I had to show her my phone. She didn’t find anything and didn’t even took the time to apologise.
It ruined the experience for me and my group.
Pro tip. Do not take dessert, it is not worth it."

"It was an incredible experience and very surprising! It was also an eye-opening experience to be in the shoes of someone with a disability, even if for only a couple of hours.
Everyone is very nice and accommodating. All the waiters are super nice and funny, making jokes all the time. We were very impressed with Johanna and her skills, she was very nice and made us feel very comfortable. I would definitely go again and I highly recommend it.
Thank you!"
