What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking, panoramic views from Sant Jeroni, calling it a magical and essential Montserrat experience. The unique rock formations and the rewarding hike are major highlights. Some find the stairs challenging, and crowds can be an issue during peak times, so planning your visit is key.
"Highly recommend the clockwise route, not the steep stairs.
You’ll get a nice view for most of the assent, and save the steps for the down route.
Incredible views"

"Absolutely worth going up. The uniquely shaped mountains are something to see. And the climb is not that hard if you respect your boundaries and take a pause whenever it's needed. But choose wisely time and weather when you are going as well as take enough water. The funicular is starting to run around 9:30. If you want to take it, it is the earliest to come, and it is also a good time since there are not that many people (competing with the midday). Before then you have to climb for about an hour to reach the highest point of the funicular and one more hour to go to the summit."
Justīna Krišjānova
"Pretty good hike. I did the clockwise loop in the late afternoon in August and it took about 2.75 hours. The trail is well marked but can be lost easily if you aren’t paying attention when you pass the top of the funicular. Altitude gain is very manageable. Most of the stairs are near the top."
