Make sure to book a parking place online through the website or call the monastery as parking is limited and available only for people who have reserved in advance. Additional parking options are available nearby, but they are about 1km away from the monastery.
The general ticket is 7 EUR and includes a guided tour by one of the monks in the monastery. The guided tour is in Spanish only and takes approximately 30 min. After the tour one can stay to see the paintings and additional information about the monastery which could take another 45 min-1h.
Lovely day trip from Madrid. Highly recommended for children above 5 years as they can learn about the history of the place and around the monastery there are plenty of easy hiking roads to enjoy with children.
