What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Volcà del Montsacopa for its stunning panoramic views of Olot and the surrounding volcanic landscape, as well as the historical interest of the 17th-century hermitage. The short climb is also a plus for many. However, some find the ascent, particularly the metal grate stairs, to be a 'tortuous' and challenging experience, and advise caution on the descent due to slippery rocks.
"It's a steep climb but has great views and some interesting historical points of interest in the small park.
Beware your approach strategy. It's a tortuous experience either way.
One way you can go up with like 200-300 steps(no shade), up a metal grate over lava stone, making it a sort of stairmaster from hell experience.
The other way up is a hill to climb with the stations of the cross depicted with statues. This one is easier, because although technically longer, there's more shade and we enjoyed the sculptures more."
