What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Museo de Palencia for its well-organized exhibits, particularly its Roman and medieval collections, and the exceptional passion of its staff. The affordable admission and modern presentation within a historic building are also frequently highlighted as positives. Some visitors note that exhibit descriptions are primarily in Spanish, which may be a barrier for non-native speakers.
"¡Muchísimas Gracias! To the whole staff working there on 5/1/23 and especially the wonderful woman working the bottom floors. She was by far one of the best experiences I have had in Spain. Her passion for the history of her province and the treasures housed at this museum were infectious. She was a wealth of knowledge accompanied along with a most generous soul. The museum is housed in a beautiful old building but the insides are refurbished in modern brutalist style to show off their extensive collection. You can learn from various ancient cultures (Iberian, Roman, Visigoth, and the medieval era) over 3 spacious floors. It seems like most of this museum would be mobility friendly. The descriptions for the most part are only in Castellano. You could easily spend 1-2 hrs or more if you like. There are some real treasures and knowledge to be enjoyed at this place and the lovely staff make sure that it is possible. So either on your way to or from the cathedral pop in for a visit. ¡Disfrutarse!"
