Reviews Summary
Platja de Fenals is praised for its spaciousness and clearer waters compared to the main Lloret beach, offering a more relaxed atmosphere and convenient free parking. However, visitors should be aware of the coarse, stony sand and the steep, wave-prone entry into the sea, making water shoes highly recommended.

"Lovely place to relax with clean sand, clear water, and plenty of space. Great for swimming and enjoying the sun."

"The sand isNOT sand at all but rather very tiny (some sharp and rough) little stones!!!
You will need - rubber soles slip ons just to walk the beach as it's so uncomfortable on your poor feet BUT THEN!!
When you do manage to get to the shoreline THE WAVES ARE SO POWERFUL - GOOD LUCK GETTING IN THE SEA - YOU'LL NEED TO BE A STRONG SWIMMER - SO BE WARNED - IT PUSHES YOU OFF BALANCE - THEN DRAGS YOU OUT !!!!!
The beach is so steep and very swampy and loose under foot it is NOT a good fun day at the beach but rather a bloody workout trying to get in the sea.
The massive rocks just in the shallows are really helpful and you'll be so grateful for breaking your toes and banging your feet and knees - 0/10
Never again.
Holiday basically ruined as the beach should be such a huge part of the experience but not on this occasion and all of this ON OUR FIRST BLOODY DAY."

Navigating the Terrain: Sand, Slope, and Sea
For those who can navigate these conditions, the beach offers a more spacious alternative to the main Lloret beach. The left and central areas are noted as better spots, offering facilities and some rocks for climbing. The right side is particularly steep. Despite these challenges, the clear water is a major draw for swimming and water sports.
Key Takeaway: Pack water shoes and be prepared for a steep entry into the sea with potentially strong waves. Assess your swimming ability before venturing too far out.
Beyond the Beach: Views and Activities
For the active traveler, Platja de Fenals is a hub for water sports. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, and paddleboarding in the clear waters. For a more unique experience, there are even introductory diving sessions available, allowing you to explore the underwater world. Additionally, some social media posts highlight organized activities like Kangoo Jumps on Sundays, offering a fun and energetic way to enjoy the beach.
Pro Tip: Combine your beach visit with a walk along the Camí de Ronda to discover hidden coves and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Comparing Fenals to Lloret's Main Beach
Another significant benefit highlighted by travelers is the free parking available near Platja de Fenals, a stark contrast to the often expensive and limited parking options at the central beach. This convenience adds to the overall positive experience.
While both beaches offer access to the Mediterranean Sea, Fenals's unique sand composition and steeper entry require more preparation. However, for those who come prepared with water shoes and an awareness of the sea conditions, Fenals provides a more serene and spacious beach experience.
