"Pontevedra's Ponte das Correntes bridge, a modern icon of Pontevedra. It is a tensioned arch bridge that crosses the Lérez River. Inaugurated in 2012, it has become one of the city's most representative symbols, combining modern design and functionality. Its design is light and elegant, with two parallel white steel arches and 17 cable ties supporting the deck. It has a total length of 138 meters and a maximum span of 116 meters. It serves both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, including a cycle path. Construction of the bridge began in 2008 and was completed in 2012. (I can't find the architect anywhere). It was a complex engineering feat that required careful planning and the use of innovative materials and construction techniques. Its modern and avant-garde design makes it a draw for architecture lovers.
