Reviews Summary
Club de Golf Alcanada is widely praised as one of Mallorca's most stunning and well-maintained golf courses, offering breathtaking sea views from nearly every hole. Visitors highlight the exceptional course condition, fast greens, and the overall serene atmosphere. While considered expensive by some, the unique coastal location and the quality of the experience, including the restaurant, make it a highly recommended must-play destination.
"This is a very elegant golf club that stands out as one of the most stunningly scenic spots on Mallorca. The way the mediterranean blue of the sea blends with the lush green landscape is just breathtaking… The moment you step onto the course, there’s a sense of relief that washes over you. I don’t think there’s another spot on the island quite like it."

"The best golf course in Mallorca! Slightly expensive but its a must place to play if you travel in Mallorca. Great personnel, very friendly, the course is extremely well maintained, very fast greens. The pro shop had great things to buy and memorabilia from the course. On top of everything is the restaurant with breathtaking view and great food to relax after the round.
Two things you should pay attention to. Bring some balls and tees if you rent clubs there. They give you only one tee and three balls. So you need to buy from the pro-shop. In the front nine holes you can loose balls easy."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
For families with young children who aren't golfers, exploring the nearby Alcudia area, with its beaches and historical sites, might be a more suitable option. If older children are interested in golf, the driving range could be a good place for them to try out the sport in a less pressured environment than the full course.
💰 Budget Travelers
To make it more accessible, look for off-season deals, consider booking through golf travel agencies that might offer package deals including accommodation and transfers, or focus on playing just one round rather than multiple. Exploring other golf courses on Mallorca that might have lower green fees could also be an alternative.
💖 Couples & Romantic Getaways
Enjoy a leisurely round of golf followed by a delightful meal at the clubhouse restaurant, savoring the stunning sunset over the Mediterranean. The serene atmosphere and beautiful scenery make it an ideal spot for a special occasion or a romantic day out.

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
The Robert Trent Jones Jr. Design
The course stretches to 6,499 meters and features a strategic layout with 58 bunkers and challenging greens. Jones Jr. is known for his ability to create courses that test the skills of professionals while remaining accessible to amateurs. At Alcanada, this means thoughtful bunkering, well-placed water hazards (though less prominent here than in some of his other designs), and greens that demand a delicate touch. The design ensures that each hole presents a unique challenge and a memorable golfing experience.
The design philosophy at Alcanada emphasizes playing with the natural contours of the land and maximizing the visual appeal. The course is integrated into a protected natural area, contributing to its serene atmosphere and the absence of external noise. This commitment to preserving the environment while creating a world-class golfing facility is a hallmark of Jones Jr.'s work and a significant part of Alcanada's appeal.
A Unique Coastal Golfing Experience
This coastal setting provides not only stunning visuals but also a unique playing environment. The gentle sea breeze can influence shots, adding an extra layer of strategy to the game. The sound of the waves and the vast expanse of the blue Mediterranean create a tranquil and inspiring atmosphere, making each round feel like a mini-escape.
The course's integration into a nature reserve further enhances its appeal. Golfers can enjoy the sounds of nature and the absence of urban noise, focusing purely on their game and the magnificent surroundings. This blend of challenging golf, natural beauty, and coastal serenity makes Club de Golf Alcanada a truly special destination for golfers seeking an exceptional experience.
The History Behind the Fairways
Due to complex regulatory requirements and the need to integrate the course sensitively within a protected natural area, the development process spanned 16 years. This lengthy period underscores the commitment to creating a high-quality facility that respects its environment. The meticulous planning and execution eventually led to the grand opening of Club de Golf Alcanada in October 2003.
This long gestation period ensured that the course was designed and built to the highest standards, reflecting the passion and dedication of its founders. The result is a golf course that is not only a sporting challenge but also a beautiful testament to careful development and a deep appreciation for the Mallorcan landscape.
