Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Museo Adolfo Lozano Sidro to be a pleasant and worthwhile experience, often described as a small but beautiful museum. The combination of Adolfo Lozano Sidro's art, the intriguing archaeological section, and contemporary exhibits offers a diverse cultural journey. While labels are primarily in Spanish, the exhibits are engaging and well-maintained, making it a highly recommended stop in Priego de Córdoba.
"A really pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. The house stands on one of the busier town centre roads. I say busy, Priego is a really nice bustling little town that could never really be called busy. Inside the house is a pleasant court yard with a potted history of the region. Everything labelled in Spanish but interesting artefacts non the less. At the back is a sleek modern exhibition area with some varied and interesting art displays. Upstairs Sidro's own work. Some really interesting work. His studies of people are particularly noteworthy, capturing the real character of his subjects. Worth a short drive and incorporating with visits to the numerous interesting churches and the old market place."

"A very interesting museum in a beautifully preserved old house. I loved the archaeological section related to the town; it was very well displayed and explained. Upstairs is the Adolfo Lozano Museum, dedicated to a local painter I wasn't familiar with, but I was impressed by his work. He contributed to the magazine Blanco y Negro and the newspaper ABC in Madrid during the early years of the last century. Personally, I didn't enjoy the Antonio Povedano Art Center because of the type of art it features, but I have no doubt it will be very interesting for others. You have to see everything patiently and without rushing. We visited on a Wednesday, and admission was free."

"A small but beautiful museum, lovingly maintained. A very cool old building with detailed floor decorations and a lovely courtyard.
The collection includes the museum of the painter Adolfo Lozano Sidro, a fine painter and exceptional draftsman, influenced by Modernism, Toulouse-Lautrec, Sorolla... His studio and rooms have been beautifully recreated.
Downstairs, there's an archaeological museum where we can follow the history of settlements in Priego from prehistory to the Reconquista. Very interesting and surprising due to the richness of the collection and the clarity of the explanatory panels.
To top it all off, a contemporary art museum with charming works.
A highly recommended visit if you come to Priego."
