What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Silla del Rey hike for its beautiful forested trail and the unique historical 'King's Chair' monument. While the climb is steep and signage is minimal, requiring navigation aids, the experience is considered rewarding. It's a dog-friendly option for those seeking a challenging yet scenic outing.
"Great hike to also bring your dog. It's a bit steep but fairly easy walk"
Jan O.K.
"The climb is steep due to the gradient, climbing more than 600 meters from La Geanja, but you walk the entire way through trees and on an asphalt road, except for the last stretch, which is a steep but short slope with rocks and roots. The saddle is in a beautiful location; the pity is that you don't have views of the valley from it, as the trees obscure it, but it's worth the effort.
Signage is lacking, so it's a good idea to ask beforehand, and bring a GPS or map with you, as you could accidentally get sidetracked at a fork."
Nuria Rubio
"A hiking tour of Segovia. At the end, the King's Chair, a stone monument carved with the date and reign of Francis of Assisi, the king, who is said to have climbed to sit and view the royal palace of San Ildefonso."
