What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by the unique opportunity to see dinosaur footprints, especially during low tide, and praise the stunning coastal scenery. However, the experience can be challenging due to the uneven terrain, the need to find the correct path, and the sometimes broken access stairs, making careful planning essential.
"🦖🦕👣
There is a slight road going down to the water, 10 mins walking and you will see stairs, after that 20-30 meters more walking by huge rocks. Sport shoes are needed. If there’s low tide, you might see the dinosaurs footprints 👣. We saw 4 of them.
Place itself is very beautiful."

"The trail down starts 100m down from the bar on the corner, you have to find an entrance, see photo. We were lucky to find the steps, so attached videos how to find them, as many from the reviews seem to struggle to locate them. Overall a nice adventure and a really great view."

"Get a tide times app and try to go on a falling tide for your safety. The path to the site is well signed but no help when you get there. There is also a broken metal staircase which by the looks of the reviews has been broken for a while. To see the prints head to the right (as you look at the sea). We walked from where we were camping and the only parking places we saw in the village were at restaurants."

👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Sturdy footwear is non-negotiable for both adults and children, as the path involves rocky terrain and potentially uneven steps. Consider bringing a small backpack with water and snacks. The Ancient Footprints: A Glimpse into the Past
Finding the exact location of the prints can be part of the adventure. While the trail down is generally marked, the final approach to the shoreline involves navigating large rocks. Some visitors have noted a broken metal staircase, so sturdy footwear is paramount. The prints themselves are scattered, and some may be more distinct than others. An elderly local once guided visitors to the tracks, highlighting that they can be found in various spots along the shore.
Beyond the footprints, the scenic beauty of the coastline is a significant draw. The dramatic cliffs and the vast expanse of the sea provide a stunning backdrop. Even if the tides aren't perfect for footprint viewing, the natural landscape offers a rewarding experience. Remember to always prioritize safety by checking tide charts and wearing appropriate gear.
Navigating the Terrain: Practicalities for Visitors
Finding the specific entry point to the trail can sometimes be a challenge. Reviews suggest looking for an entrance about 100 meters down from a corner bar. While some visitors have been lucky to find intact steps, others have encountered a broken metal staircase, which underscores the need for caution and good footwear. The path is not always clearly marked once you are on the rocks, so keeping an eye on the sea and the direction of the shore is important.
Parking in the small village can also be limited. Many visitors report finding parking spaces at local restaurants. Planning your visit around low tide is not just for seeing the footprints but also for ensuring a safer and more accessible experience on the rocky shoreline.
