Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Sagunto Roman Theatre for its free entry and historical significance, appreciating the blend of ancient ruins and modern reconstruction. However, some find parts inaccessible and note the steep, challenging terrain, recommending comfortable shoes and preparedness for limited amenities.

"An amazing restored historical landmark that is apparently still used for events. The blend between the old and new was excellently done. We hiked to the top of the seating area and were treated to a panoramic view of the city below."

Terence Lam

"A fantastic place to view .
You are better off parking in town as you can't drive up to the castle. There is a little road train that will take you up to the castle. The Roman Theatre has been rebuilt incorporating the ancient amphitheatre.
The amphitheatre is part of the castle which is a huge complex of Jewish and Roman buildings, including ancient Jewish cemetery. The castle has been added to and expanded over the centuries and it is interesting to see different influences and uses from the past.
The castle is not suitable for pushchairs or very young children as it will take 3 to 4 hours to investigate all there is to offer.
The castle is very steep and uneven so good shoes are advisable.
There are no amenities, at the castle, so make sure you bring food and water. But there are a few lovely little resturants on the way down.
You wouldn't be disappointed with the place it is a great day out.
And there is no entrance fee."

David mann

"The Roman theatre was free to enter and originally held 8000 spectators but was now about 20% original and the rest reconstructed in modern yellow bricks. I think there were one or two information boards but maybe not and I probably spent 10 minutes walking around the theatre before leaving."
