Reviews Summary

While the Doñana National Park itself is lauded for its incredible fauna and natural beauty, the organized boat and 4x4 tours receive significant criticism for their outdated, polluting vehicles and the overall poor visitor experience, often described as treating people 'worse than cattle'. Environmental concerns are paramount for many reviewers, leading to recommendations for alternative, more sustainable ways to explore the park.

"How to describe:
1. Doñana is an amazing place, beautiful and incredible fauna
2. Trip organizer: make me feel embarrassed we belong to the same country. Firstly the boat: full of rust with plastic bar chairs (positive side you can see the bottom of the river through some holes). Secondly the 4wd buses. Must be from 1st world war. The mount of pollution they through by their exhaust is incredible. Not to say that they are overcrowded and you have to fight to seat with your family together.
It is clearly a setup to treat a massive number of people worse than cattle and make as much money as possible.
If you want to protect Doñana do NOT take this tour"

"If you do get the chance then perhaps take the €50 4x4 bus option which covered far more ground and took us into the dunes as well. The driver might do the commentary in Spanish… have Google translate ON. Maybe they do it with an English commentary at times.

The walking options definitely have English and Spanish tours

Lovely cruise up the river to start the day. Walkers come back on the same boat whilst 4x4 travellers come back on the car ferry

Downsides are as mentioned in that seats on 4x4 are unreserved so get to the door first if in a family or you want a window seat

Also it’s very bumpy (of course!) so if you get get travel sick avoid

Thirdly, just one photo stop

It was however in my daughters “top 3” of our short holiday in Jerez"

"With great expectations, and well prepared (sun screen, anti muscito, good shoes and a reservation) we paid the €15 and got on the boat.
After a short trip on an loud diesel boat with a nice crew, we entered the donana national park.
There we saw a historical village and got a introduction in Spanish and English. During the talk we allready saw some boars and birds of pray.
The guide told us to be very quite so we had the biggest change of seeing wildlife.
Meanwhile big 4x4 busses where passing by, making soo much noise that we couldn't hear the guide.
Then finally we started walking. It turned out to be a 10 minute walk on a well prepared path with a really big group of people.
On that path we had to pass at least 2 other big groups.
Then we returned to the boat on the same path and headed up the river a bit more.

My advise : Don't go on this trip. Donate some money to the park preservation and get some nice drinks on the beach on the Sanlúcar de Barrameda side of the river. It is cheaper, nice and more quiet."
