The Monument al Descobriment d’Amèrica, known locally as “s’Ou” (the egg), is a playful tribute to Columbus and the discovery of America, built for the 500th anniversary of his voyage. Inside the giant concrete egg sits a metal replica of the Santa María, his famous ship.
It’s a quirky and photogenic landmark located in the middle of a roundabout in Sant Antoni – but not something you can walk up to or explore closely. There’s no information board, and it’s more of a curious local feature than a real tourist attraction.
