Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the Casa del Águila y la Parra for its free admission and the opportunity to view rotating art and photography exhibitions within historic architecture. However, some find the exhibits lack detailed explanations, and a guided tour would be beneficial for a deeper understanding. The buildings are well-preserved and representative of the region's heritage.
"The Casa del Águila y la Parra are located in the Historic Center of Santillana del Mar in front of the Casa de Barreda. That of the Eagle receives its name from the bird that has the shield on its façade and in the other house there was a vine in its front that was replaced by wood and brick. Free photographic exhibitions are held at the Águila House. They are built of stone and some brick. Very well preserved and representative of the place."

"We saw this group of houses located in the Plaza Mayor, right on the dividing line is the sculpture of the Bison by Jesús Otero. The first one is more of an ethnographic museum where we were able to see and walk through the rooms, observing the variety and quantity of utensils from the period. The other house we saw later is more of a temporary exhibition space. I've visited this place several times, and I had to write a review and take photos."

"The Casas del Águila and La Parra are two emblematic buildings located in the historic center of Castro Urdiales that reflect the city's rich architectural and cultural heritage. These stately homes, with facades full of Gothic and Renaissance details, are a perfect example of Cantabrian civil architecture from centuries past.
Both houses stand out for their imposing presence and for preserving original elements such as heraldic shields, traceried windows, and pointed arches, which transport visitors to another era. Situated in a privileged location, they are part of the municipality's historic and artistic heritage and are a must-see for those visiting the old town.
In addition to their architectural value, these houses are silent witnesses to local history and reflect the lifestyle and power of the families who lived there. Visiting the Casas del Águila and La Parra is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and art of Castro Urdiales, in a setting full of charm and tradition."
