What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Puerto Pesquero Santoña for its authentic, working port atmosphere and the opportunity to witness genuine maritime life. The town's famous anchovies are a major culinary draw, and the scenic promenade offers pleasant strolls. However, some reviews mention environmental concerns regarding pollution in the water.
"Busy yet quiet. Perfect for a romantic stroll, taking photos, and enjoying the views."
David G.S.
"It's interesting to visit the port and see that each one is demarcated by its entrance and moorings: on one side the fishing port and on the other the marina. In the area separating the two ports, there is a building that houses the Santoña Natural Park Visitor Center. This fishing port has an old-fashioned feel, and there are also many small fishing boats, whose inshore fishing activity is among the most important in the Cantabrian coast. (Their anchovies are highly appreciated nationally and internationally), as we can attest, as we tried them in a bar in the port. The Fishermen's Guild and the Fish Market are located here."
Lluis Higini Melero Peris
"Traditional fishing port. The fish market is nearby. Parking. Restaurants. It connects to the promenade where you can swim and have showers. The surroundings are very pleasant."
