What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Huevo de Colón sculpture is a striking, colossal monument in Seville's beautiful Parque de María Luisa. Visitors appreciate its impressive scale and the peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding park, making it a great spot for walks and picnics. However, some note that the park's upkeep, particularly the fountain, could be improved.
"It's in a big park with a lake, playground for kids, football pitch, lots of trees and it's the tallest bronce statue in all Spain, the Egg of Christopher Columbus by the Georgian/Russian artist Zurab Tsereteli and was donated by the city hall of Moscow to Seville. Nice to stroll or exercise here. The park doesn't have shades so better be careful in summer. We went here yesterday in spring, the sun was shining bright and we almost had sunburn. Quiet and peaceful, it's a park that you enjoy having a walk ir even a picnic."
Joe Milanes
"The statue itself as the biggest bronze statue in Spain is impressive . Unfortunately, visiting in January, the surrounding park is not as impressive additionally the water in the fountain directly under the sculpture smells quiet badly."
Krzysztof Turczyn
"Nice park with outstanding views. Perfect plan for a Sunday afternoon, you can even bring your dog. There is a nearby river where some people like to practice fishing and lots of places to wander and get lost."
