This Romanesque church dates from the late 12th and early 13th centuries and stands in the middle of the historic center of Sigüenza. The façade is reminiscent of a Roman temple and is very integrated into Calle Mayor, being the only part visible from the outside. It served as a parish church. The church was erected by Bishop Don Cerebruno (1156-1167). It has a single nave. The church was once attached to a monastery of the Poor Clares, which was abandoned in the 1940s. The entrance portal has a bust of the apostle James and traces of the coat of arms of Bishop Fadrique de Portugal from the 16th century. A visit to this church is highly recommended, as is a visit to the historic center of this spectacular medieval city of Sigüenza."
