What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Puente Mayor de Toro to be a beautiful and historically significant landmark, offering charming views of the Duero River. While some note its somewhat neglected state, its enduring architecture and peaceful atmosphere are widely appreciated, making it a worthwhile stop for its historical value and scenic appeal.
"A bridge from the vicinity of the viewpoint from Toro. There was supposed to be an older bridge in its place from the 12 century and later this stone bridge was built in its place. It's believed to have Roman connections. The present bridge was used to connect Toro to the cities on the other side of the bank. By the 21st century it lost it's use due to other national roads, motorways and modern bridges across the Duero River.
The present photos are of the overflow of the river today and we can see the river being overflowed to the adjoining fields. Another photo from the viewpoint is also given."
