Reviews Summary

The Dolmen de Soto is recognized as a historically significant and impressive megalithic site, praised for its well-preserved structure and the intriguing equinox alignment. However, many visitors express frustration with its frequent closures for conservation, leading to disappointing visits. The challenging access roads are also a point of concern for some. Reddit+1

"Dolmen de Soto (Andalusia, Spain)
was rediscovered in 1922, located in the municipality of Trigueros (Huelva) is one of the most important and best preserved megalithic sites of the peninsula. Construction may have taken place between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age 3000-2500 BC.

This complex is covered by a large earthen hill with a diameter of 60 meters and surrounded by a 65m stone circle.

Inside Soto Dolmen there is a chamber and a 21m corridor of large slabs of various stones."

"As a historic site I would rate it five stars. As a visitor experience it is one star because despite signs on the gate giving opening hours, it is definitively CLOSED for conservation. Don’t be fooled by the write-ups which say it re-opened in December. Maybe it did, but it is closed now."

Richard Lister

"It's a very interesting place situated at the location, where you do not expect to find something like this. It is well organized and the reconstruction was performed quite nice. It is really important to take the way passing Trigueros and not the another one because of the condition of the road."
