What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Puerta de Coria as a must-see historical site in Trujillo, highlighting its well-preserved medieval architecture and the stunning sunset views from the nearby viewpoint. The opportunity to explore the surrounding wall route is also a significant draw for those seeking a deeper historical immersion. Some note the limited facilities directly at the site, recommending preparation.
"An almost forgotten door that must be visited when touring Trujillo. Located to the north of the wall, it is one of those mentioned since the end of the 15th century. Although it was not one of the most relevant, it was of great importance for allowing access to orchards and the most N-NE edge of the Berrocal. Located next to the old convent of San Francisco el Real. It has a small viewpoint from which you can observe the old Magdalena Convent, in ruins, glimpse the Huertas de la Magdalena neighborhood, also of medieval origins, and observe beautiful sunsets.
From the Coria Gate, outside the walls, you can follow a short route to the spur (surrounding it or crossing a passage under it), and continue to the Triumph Gate to return to the interior of the wall.
It is a highly recommended visit."
