What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Valldemossa village incredibly charming with its picturesque streets and stunning mountain views. The Royal Charterhouse offers historical context, particularly for Chopin and Sand enthusiasts, though some find the museum's collection modest for the entrance fee. The overall experience is often enhanced by the village's beauty, despite occasional critiques of museum service or value.
"Visiting Valldemossa was an unforgettable experience. This is where Frederic Chopin and George Sand spent the winter of 1838 together, and you can truly feel their presence in the old monastery walls. Music, love, and struggle once echoed through these corridors… and even today they still whisper their story to every visitor. A must-see for anyone who loves art, history, and the timeless beauty of Mallorca. ❤️😉"

"The entrance fee to see a few preserved items related to the great Chopin may not be worth it, but the views from the terrace are definitely worth experiencing. If you want to explore the other rooms, you'll need to pay an additional fee."

"The village Vallmedossa is beautiful and has got a breathtaking views. In the 1830s the Spanish government confiscated monasteries and the monastery in Valmedossa was sold to private owners, who have since hosted some prominent guests. These have included the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin and his lover the pioneering French writer Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin, better known by her pseudonym George Sand, who wrote a notable account of A Winter in Majorca, describing their 1838–39 visit. The piano was sold, but later brought back to the museum and placed in the room, which Chopin was rented while visited Mallorca. The winter in Mallorca was milder than in Poland and he tried to cured the first symptoms of his illness."
