"Although they don't seem to be to be accessable to view except on the western side where you can go out of the old center under an excellent gate with portcullis then take a left and skirt them on the outside for a few hundred metres on the walkway provided. Looking at them you can kind of imagine what it would have been like to live when an enemy closed in on the city and everyone would have to retreat inside!!"
