What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Volcán Bayuyo a fascinating natural phenomenon with stunning panoramic views, especially from the crater rims. While the volcanic landscape is unique and often compared to Mars, some note it's less visually dramatic than other volcanic sites. The hikes are generally manageable, though preparation with water and good shoes is key.
"Oh what a treat! Pretty hard hike..more scary coming down. What a view!"
Justyna Swatek
"The volcano itself isn’t particularly spectacular, but it’s still fascinating to see this natural phenomenon up close. There’s a path leading up to the crater, though we didn’t hike to the top. The landscape is barren, much like most of the island. It’s especially interesting to compare it to Mount Teide on Tenerife, which is surrounded by stunning scenery—whereas here, there’s very little around. Still, it’s a worthwhile stop during your time on Fuerteventura."
Viktoria Weizel
"Dirt road, about 2.5 km from Corralejo mainroad, not much going up. Landscape reminds of Mars. Worthy a walk in an afternoon.
However, don't expect to see real volcanos like in Indonesia, these are not active for thousands years"
