What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Mercat Municipal for its dual personality: a charming daytime market and a vibrant evening social hub. The lively atmosphere at night, with numerous bars and restaurants, is a major draw, complemented by the diverse offerings of the Tuesday and Friday markets. Some find the daytime can be too hot and less engaging.
"We walked to Plaza at just before noon on Saturday and found all the restaurants and bars just starting to spring to life. It was quiet and a few were setting up the tables, chairs and umbrellas on the terraces for the lunch service. We were delighted to stop at 4 Roses (which was open) for a cool drink and just watch the world go by. We took a stroll to the indoor market and while small, it had some great local products and we wished we weren’t on foot without a car on this trip! Later that night, we walked back through the square and were astonished at how lively it was! There must have been 400 people at the plentiful restaurants and bars enjoying the evening and the happy buzz of happy people was wonderful!"
