What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Timanfaya Visitor Center for its informative exhibits on volcanic history and the stunning panoramic views of the lava fields. The unique dining experience at the geothermal restaurant is a memorable highlight. However, some find the exhibits dated, with limited English information, and the overall experience can feel like 'production line tourism' due to its popularity and structured nature.
"Impressive! To get there was a struggle. There is not much parking space so that led to a traffic jam. Once you can park your car you get in a touring bus to drive through the park. If you are scared of Heights, this might not be for you. Beautiful craters an to top it off in the restaurant they grill the chicken on a lava well."

"An excellent stop for anyone fascinated by Lanzarote's volcanic history. The indoor exhibits provide a solid overview of the island's dramatic geological past, with well-presented information on eruptions, lava formations, and the unique flora and fauna that thrive in this harsh environment. The large panoramic windows offer breathtaking views of the surrounding lava fields.
The long outdoor trail is a standout, letting you fully appreciate the rugged, almost otherworldly landscape. While some areas inside could use a refresh, the combination of informative displays and scenery makes this a worthwhile stop for nature enthusiasts and curious travelers alike."

"Great that you can access this place for free. Sadly there's where the good news ends. There seems to be no English available for this museum. Everything was in Spanish, which really limits what you can learn.
The museum felt like it's been left in the past, none of the interactive buttons worked or did anything. There was just information around volcanos and not much else. It would have been cool to see items from the 1700-1800s eruptions and peoples reactions from the period.
The whole place just needs modernising sadly."
