"Beautiful museum. A great artist. Free!"

"After many years I finally got the opportunity to travel from Ireland to Zamora to visit El Museo Baltasar Lobo. It was an enormous pleasure to be able to see and indeed touch so many masterpieces of this great artist but the museum itself left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. There was little information, and no bookshop on offer. My wife and I wanted to view the floor, were the receptionist was sitting, which contained many more of the artists works, but we were refused access without explanation. My wife also wanted to use the public bathroom but likewise she was told that this was off limits again without explanation. While I was on the upper floor of the exhibition a man entered the museum and started to converse incredibly loudly and swear with the receptionist who clearly knew him. This continued to the point where I had to go downstairs and ask them please to be quiet as it was impossible to enjoy the museum with this nonsense. I have travelled the world visiting museums and this was the first time I have ever had to ask actual employees of a cultural establishment to show a minimum of courtesy to their visitors. The only reason I know of the existence of Zamora is thanks to the genius of Baltasar Lobo. The employees who owe their livelihoods to their great erstwhile compatriot should show his art and the people who travel the world to experience it more respect."

"Cozy and charming museum full of special pieces. The sculptures about maternity are particularly astonishing. A precious collection and an opportunity to learn about the work of this talented Spanish artist, almost unknown in his homeland, since he had to go into exile due to the Civil War."
