"Located on the left bank of the Duero River, in the neighborhood that bears its name, this is a Romanesque church (13th century), although it has undergone numerous later renovations. It was founded by Aldovino de Périgord as a hospital/pilgrim hostel, and its polygonal sanctuary is one of the few remaining elements of the original Romanesque architecture. The main chapel is almost as large as the nave, and even slightly wider, a detail that is unusual here. Inside, the Nazarene of San Frontis is housed, a 17th-century sculpture that arrived in 1800 from the Hermitage of the Cross and whose procession marks the beginning of Holy Week in Zamora. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 2013."
