"Formerly called Playa de los Curas (Church Beach).
It is the third largest beach in Zumaia after Santiago and Itzurun.
It became very famous as a result of geological studies of the Flysh and the history of the earth.
A spectacular contrast between mountains, sea, and the spectacular stone slabs (flysh).
A lovely walk and a beautiful area to relax, think, meditate, admire nature, etc.
It can be easily accessed from Amaia Square via an easy walk, but in some parts the ground is cobbled, so it's best to wear shoes for walking on unpaved paths.
It can also be accessed via a trail from the San Telmo hermitage.
If you're going to Zumaia, the Itzurun-San Telmo-Algorri route is a must."

Understanding the geology of the flysch enhances the visitor experience. It's a reminder of the dynamic processes that shape our planet.
