What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests rave about the Palacio de Valderrábanos for its unbeatable location right on Cathedral Plaza, offering stunning views and immediate access to Ávila's historic heart. The blend of historic palace charm with modern comforts, spacious rooms, and pet-friendly policies are frequently praised. However, some visitors note that room walls can be thin, leading to potential noise from neighbors, and street noise can also be a factor due to the central location.
"Beautiful hotel, perfect location, great rooms, good breakfast. The only negative was very little insulation, seemingly, so I could hear all my neighbors conversations. And with a great location on the busy cathedral plaza there is quite a bit of street noise."
Lisa LaGrow
"Decent 4 star hotel in an absolutely beautiful city.
The location is excellent, with the central town car park only 3 minutes away, so, if you don’t have too much luggage, you don’t have to drive your car into the small streets.
The hotel itself is OK, service is good enough, yet not very engaged and breakfast is decent.
The rooms themselves are a little dated and the walls are thin, but the rates are also not that high - so, value for money is quite reasonable.
We did one night here and saw the town next morning, and for purpose it was definitely good."
Guido Coenders
"Excellent place to stay in Avila. For us with a dog it was just the place to stay. Right in the heart of Avila with excellent facilities. The value for money is great. If they have rooms available for your period, do not hesitate!"

Location, Location, Location!
Being on the Cathedral Plaza provides stunning views and makes navigating the city incredibly easy. You can step out and immediately immerse yourself in the medieval atmosphere. Room Comforts and Considerations
However, a recurring point in reviews is the limited sound insulation between rooms. Some guests have reported being able to hear conversations from neighboring rooms, which can be a concern for light sleepers. This is a common characteristic in older buildings that have been renovated, where preserving the original structure can sometimes impact modern soundproofing standards.
Despite this, the overall value for money is considered reasonable, especially given the hotel's excellent location and the quality of the rooms. If you are sensitive to noise, it might be worth requesting a room away from common areas or inquiring about rooms with better insulation, if available.
