The views from the two opposite sides is the station are faced - southern lowlands and central hills (from Welimada plateau through to Piduruthalagala mountain range).
The station itself has a very limited facilities for the travellers and visitors. Can easily be converted to a customer and tourist friendly place by opening a cafe (tea, coffee and snacks), arranging guided tours to Idalgashinna mountain top, Adisham Bungalow, Haputale, etc. This will be a lucrative source of income.

"This is the most beautiful railway station in Sri Lanka. The train station is covered with fog for most of the day. It has a very spectacular view when there is no fog. On the left you can see Diyatalawa, Bandarawela area and on the right you can see towards Hambantota. If you are going to see Idalgashinna mountain you have to get down from this station. You can reach the top of the mountain in about 30 minutes by hike."
