What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Madulsima Mini World's End is lauded for its breathtaking, 'edge of the world' views and the magical 'above the clouds' experience, especially during sunrise. Many recommend it for camping and its serene, natural beauty, though the journey can be challenging and caution is advised due to hornets and leeches.
"Madolsima Mini World's End in the Cocogalla Estate, Pitamaruwa, 40 kms from Badulla, is another breathtaking destination, with an elevation of 3,400 feet at its highest point. The view point offers stunning views of the greenery and scenic beauty of surrounding landscape and mountains.
You need to walk through a scenic 1.5 km trail from the drop off point to Mini World's End view point.
It's best to visit the point early morning as you can soak in the beauty of the landscape in the cool of the morning and chilly winds blowing in your face.
As the day gets warmer there's also a risk of bees and hornets buzzing around and if you are unlucky there's a possibility of getting stung.
In wet weather beware of leeches."

"The place is beautiful and has a scenic view. We went camping there yesterday, but I would advise against camping or even visiting. Within the past week, about 10 people have been attacked by hornets. We were also attacked by them. Two of our friends were stuck in the tent, and we had to run about 3 kilometers. I was stung by three hornets myself. Based on my experience, I would not recommend going there."

"Madulsima View Point is an absolute must-visit for those who love scenic landscapes and adventure. The journey through tea plantations and winding roads is beautiful, and once you reach the top, the view is simply mesmerizing! On a clear day, you can see rolling hills stretching endlessly, and during the early morning or late evening, the mist creates a magical "floating above the clouds" experience.
Camping here is highly recommended for an unforgettable sunrise. The fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings make it a perfect getaway from city life. Definitely one of the best viewpoints in Sri Lanka!"
