"Single Tree Hill is the 10th tallest mountain in Sri Lanka in Nuwara Eliya Town. I have visited this year on June very good weather . Anyone can try for a short hiking there and anyone can take car to go top it takes 20/25 mins to go there . You can see the whole city from top also there's Buddha Temple but did not finish yet because of fund and other than you can see tea plants. Nice place can keep in your list if you're visiting Nuwara Eliya."

"Single Tree Hill Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Nuwara Eliya approximately 2100 meters above sea level and very close to Nuwara Eliya town. The temple is situated on One Tree Mountain, the 10th tallest mountain in Sri Lanka which stands 250 meters above Nuwara Eliya city.
For those who enjoy hiking reaching the top is an exciting adventure. The best time for hiking is in the morning as the sunrise offers breathtaking scenery. Although the temple’s construction is still ongoing, it is well worth a visit."

The Allure of Nuwara Eliya's 'Little England'
Single Tree Hill itself stands at approximately 6,890 feet (2100 meters) and is recognized as the 10th tallest mountain in Sri Lanka. Its name comes from the solitary tree gracing its summit, a distinctive landmark against the expansive sky. The hill offers breathtaking panoramic views, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists seeking scenic vistas and a tranquil escape.
Beyond the immediate views, the journey to Single Tree Hill often involves passing through vibrant tea estates, a quintessential Sri Lankan experience. The cool climate and misty atmosphere contribute to the region's unique charm, making it a refreshing contrast to the warmer coastal areas. The presence of the Buddhist temple on the ascent adds a cultural dimension to the natural beauty, offering a moment of reflection for visitors.
Navigating the Ascent: Hiking vs. Driving
For those who enjoy an active experience, hiking offers a rewarding journey. The trail provides opportunities to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings, pass by tea plantations, and visit the Single Tree Hill Buddhist Temple. The hike allows for a more intimate connection with the landscape and the chance to stop and appreciate the evolving views as you ascend.
If you opt for driving, it's advisable to have a vehicle with good ground clearance and four-wheel-drive capabilities, or at least a sturdy bike. Alternatively, you can drive as far as possible and then complete the final stretch on foot. Regardless of your chosen method, the effort is well worth it for the stunning panoramic views awaiting you at the top.
The 'One Tree Hill' Phenomenon: Views and Surprises
However, a common point of surprise for some visitors is the presence of a large radar station at the summit. While this structure is functional, it can detract from the otherwise pristine natural scenery for those expecting an entirely untouched vista. Despite this, the overall experience of reaching the top and taking in the expansive views remains a significant draw for many travelers.
