Visitors rave about the breathtaking panoramic views of Sigiriya Rock from Pidurangala, especially during sunrise. The affordable entrance fee and less crowded nature compared to Sigiriya Rock are major draws. "It is quite an easy walk up, but do expect a bit of climbing and not a direct path or stairway.
You can wear long pants as the entrance is a temple where your knees and shoulders have to be covered. However, they also have sarongs to borrow for free.
Of course, the view is beautiful. It is well worth the hike up here."

"You have to do this at sunrise! Any time after it won’t be as magical. It’s an easy hike up. You just have to go through few flight of stairs the earlier you start the better. Place opens at 5am so be there 5am sharp and start your way up to watch the sunrise. You will be able to see Sigiriya rock and the views are spectacular"

"Great peak, better for climbing then The Lion Rock (no iron stairs, far less people). The last part of climbing under the pick is a little bit tricky if you climb with very small kids (I would not recommend for kids under 3yo) - daddy’s strong hand and assistance is really required. Under the pick chose a way under the rock on the left (much easier)."
