🚨We’re calling for a simple but powerful global campaign: #FastForGaza The Very Revd Canon Richard Sewell, Dean of St George’s College, in Jerusalem, is leading the initiative—to go hungry for 24-hours in solidarity with the thousands of innocent civilians at risk of dying from starvation. 🔴This action is a plea for the UK Government to do more to end the siege in Gaza. We invite others to join us...

Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently awestruck by the dramatic beauty of St. George's Monastery, its precarious cliffside location, and the adventurous hike through Wadi Qelt. The sense of history and spiritual tranquility is palpable. However, some find the hike challenging, and the limited facilities require thorough preparation.

"If you pass by, be sure to stop and go to the observation deck. Stunning view of the gorge and the Greek orthodox church. You can see, how much effort the monks put in to make such beauty. I liked it, and not only the church itself, well, if you look at the rock a little higher, you will see two small balconies on the rock- the monks here made small, but very cozy houses for themselves with amazing views. We stayed here for 15 minutes, but every minute I enjoyed the amazing view of this church and this gorge."

"Could not enter because it closes already at 1 pm. Nice view of it from the viewpoint next to the access road. Great setting in a deep narrow gorge. 40 min walk from the nearby refugee camp on a steep paved road, there also seems to be a path on the other side of the gorge."

"Our tour guide surprised us with a visit here but we saw it from a distance. But it was one of the most remarkable sites I've ever seen. Built out of the rock in the mountains it's an actually working monastery. Amazing"
