What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Overbridge River Resort offers a beautiful riverside location and friendly staff, making it a potentially relaxing escape. However, many guests note that the facilities are dated and require significant maintenance, with issues like peeling paint and mildew. While the natural setting is a highlight, inconsistent amenities like WiFi and slow restaurant service can detract from the experience.
"It's a great place to be and chilled out. But they need to clean up the place, and make it looks more inviting."

"The riverside location is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner was good. Loved the natural light in the cabana. It's a good jumping-off point to go further afield, while at the same time not far from the city, and quite close to the airport. Payment can be made by card online.
From the photos, I thought the cabana would be much nicer. It was very basically furnished and really needed some work here and there; the walls and doors were peeling and patchy, the sink was mildewy, and the cabinets were falling apart. WiFi is not available in all cabins, but I was able to get a patchy signal from my front room. The resort was popular with families, but kind of lame for a single man, especially one who doesn't enjoy the sound of screaming children. If I had a family, I'd consider bringing them here; as a solo traveller, I'd explore my options."

"This is intended as a PSA :
For what internationally is known as resort, this is actually a eco lodge.
We received our room and it had hundreds of mosquitos, we took like half hour to get rid of them all. They didn’t provide a single bar of soap. There is no TV, and no good WiFi.
The restaurant is available until 6, sometimes 7pm, but better order way waaay in advance as they take a lot to give the food (no room service available you have to pick them and take it to the room yourself).
The food is not very good, however the closest place is a Chinese convenience store 30min away. Forget to have fresh coffee in the morning, you will only get instant coffee and hot water.
The place has a lot of potential as nature is amazing, however they must make a great effort to take care of the facilities finishes, e.g broken tiles, rust in the mini bar, microwave, stains on the pillow and pillow cases, mooldy pool chairs (and very few). In a nutshell, the place is super dated."

In-depth insights and expert knowledge
Understanding the 'Eco-Lodge' Experience
This focus on nature means you might encounter mosquitos, and essential toiletries like soap may not be provided. The WiFi can be unreliable and is not available in all cabins. Understanding this distinction upfront will help manage expectations and allow you to fully appreciate the resort's natural charm.
Despite these points, many visitors find the staff friendly and helpful, and the natural water pool and warmed pool offer enjoyable ways to relax. It's a place where the natural setting is the star, and the facilities are secondary.
Dining and Connectivity: Practicalities to Note
For those who rely on internet access, WiFi is not a guaranteed amenity. It's described as patchy and unavailable in all cabins. If you need consistent connectivity for work or staying in touch, it's advisable to have a backup plan, such as a mobile hotspot or preparing for limited access. The nearest alternative for supplies is a convenience store about 30 minutes away, so stocking up on snacks or drinks before arriving might also be a good idea.
Maximizing Your Stay: Tips from Travelers
For photography enthusiasts, the riverside location offers beautiful natural scenery, and drone footage has showcased stunning aerial perspectives. Be aware that walkways can become quite dark at night, so consider bringing a flashlight if you plan to be out after sunset. While the resort is popular with families, if you're seeking a quiet escape as a solo traveler, you might find the sounds of children disruptive.
