What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are captivated by Pyramiden's unique status as a remarkably preserved Soviet ghost town in the Arctic. The intricate details of the Cultural Palace and the stunning fjord views are frequently praised. However, the remote access and the current geopolitical climate can present challenges for some potential visitors.
"Beautiful piece of Russia in the middle of the arctic desert.
Impressive to see how all the wooden wall ornaments where done by hand.
It's like going some decades back into time!"
Darby de Bies
"A remarkable building in a remarkable place. What particularly impressed me, however, was the view from the front of the cultural center: You look out over the town of Pyramiden, enjoy the colorful houses and the green lawns, and then glimpse the deep blue Nordenskjöld Glacier on the other side of the fjord. This view was enchanting on a summer Sunday in July 2025 – despite the overcast sky and only sparse sunshine. You probably rarely see anything more beautiful."
