Once the main eastern gateway into the fortified city, Österport stands tall with its twin towers and heavy stone structure, offering a glimpse into Visby’s rich Hanseatic history. You can still see the grooves from the old portcullis, and standing beneath the arch, it’s easy to picture knights and merchants passing through centuries ago.
It’s a great starting point for a walking tour along the city wall or through the cobbled streets of Old Town. Definitely worth stopping to admire its architecture and take in the history. A must-see if you're exploring Visby!"
