What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Skokloster Castle for its stunning preservation of 17th-century Baroque architecture and interiors, offering a unique historical immersion. The beautiful apple gardens and scenic lakeside setting are also highlights, making it a picturesque getaway. Some find the public transport challenging and the on-site cafe a bit pricey with small portions.
"Great and knowledgeable guides and beautiful surroundings. Very interesting bit of Swedish history and everything is well preserved. The outside area for kids could be expanded to cater for children older than 4-5 years.
Certain areas of the castle are only available to you when on a guided tour (which I was and my rating is based on this experience)."

"I came to visit the “Bridgerton” exhibition and was blown away by the architectural features, the artwork and how much care they put into preserving everything. Ceilings with reliefs and motives of uncommon big scale, doors painted with floral motives, incredible wallpapers! A unique collection of objects and clothes and a gorgeous location, at least in summer. I will definitely come back!
The restaurant was crowded and the portions a bit small for the price, but everything was tasty. I guess they didn’t expect to receive so many visitors that day, for that I let it pass and don’t punish the overall rating."

"Well preserved medieval castle. A lot of original art, decorations, furniture. Leather wall panels are amazing. Very compact and not tiresome to explore. Original Arcimboldo painting on the first floor. A little hard to get there by public transportation. But it well worse the travel time."
