What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Tyresta National Park for its well-maintained trails, accessibility from Stockholm, and beautiful natural scenery, including ancient forests and lakes. While most find the trails manageable, some note that Swedish difficulty ratings can be challenging for beginners. A recurring concern is the infrequent public transport schedule for return journeys.
"Clean and well maintained. There are different trails and you can pick one that’s suitable for you. Easy to commute . The trails are “easy” “medium “ and “hard” and these are according to Swedish standards. I am a beginner and picked the “medium” one and that was very difficult for me. They have great camping spots as well, toilets are very clean. Highly recommend you to carry enough water with you. Start early if possible"

"This is a great national park with both hard and easy trails. We did the Barnvagnsslingan trail (5 km long) which is a circular loop. This is noted with the red hexagon and white dot label on the trail. The name is Bylsjöpromenaden (see photo). The entrance is next to a car park (which is next to a bus stop in case you are coming by bus). The trail can be done with a stroller but there is some elevation at places so be prepare! However the views are stunning going around a lake. We even saw a few people camping in the forest. There are designated camping areas. There are also toilets and a cafe close to the entrance of the trail. Overall highly recommended."

"A very well maintained national park. There are several trials that one can take. There are shorter as well over-night camping trials. There are markers everywhere so that one cannot get lost which I was very impressed of. Definitely pack plenty of food and sufficient water to stay hydrated. Otherwise it's a really beautiful park with peaceful greenery and lake to cool off by.
My only advice would be to not litter. Please carry all the waste with you until you find bins."
