Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Pfalz observation terrace for its stunning, free-to-access panoramic views of the Rhine River and Basel's charming cityscape. The proximity to the Basel Minster and its cloisters adds significant historical and architectural appeal, making it a highly recommended spot for a peaceful moment or a beautiful sunset. Some note that it can get crowded during peak times.

"This little spot was suggested to me by our hotel clerk. She told me I'd get an excellent view over Little Basel. It was as described. A picturesque spot.
There were bonuses too. The church, the cloisters and the location to walk around all provided a GG ood spot to enjoy.

HINT: Either go down the side of the church or via the side entrance and through the back.

It is worth a stop."

"Tucked behind the majestic Basel Minster, this elevated platform offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Rhine River, the charming rooftops of Kleinbasel, and on clear days, even stretches to the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges in France.

It’s the perfect spot to pause and soak in the city’s beauty—whether you're watching ferries glide across the river, admiring the sunset, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment under the shade of old trees. The terrace is open 24/7 and free to access, making it an ideal stop any time of day."
