"The Martinskirche is one of the oldest churches in Chur and definitely worth a visit. From the outside, it’s rather simple — but that’s exactly where its charm lies. No flashy decorations, just honest Gothic architecture with a slender tower that stands out in the cityscape.
The church dates back to the 8th century, though most of what you see today comes from the 15th century. Inside, you’ll find beautiful stained-glass windows, including some created by the famous Swiss artist Augusto Giacometti. Yep, part of that Giacometti family — the one that also gave us sculptor Alberto Giacometti.
They often host concerts here too, and the acoustics are excellent. Just make sure your phone doesn’t start playing ABBA mid-performance — even Giacometti’s windows wouldn’t save you then. 😊"
