What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Grand Théâtre de Genève for its stunning 19th-century architecture, especially the renovated auditorium and its spectacular ceiling. The quality of opera and dance productions is highly regarded, offering a world-class cultural experience. Some find the dining options limited for a full meal before a show.
"Finally I made it! Since Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui directs the theater, I start following their program. Previously I saw shows in another venue so this is the first time in the theater. The 2019 renovation is a success and Stryjenski's ceiling is still spectacular.
The location is easy to access and multiple bars offer drinks and simple food. It's possible to have dinner before the show although one hour is quite short. The first row of Amphitheater is the best value for money."

"Because of Covid have not seen much of the theatre, only my part of amphitheatre. Robert Wilson presentation of Handel Messiah was interesting, but can't agree with grimacing Tenor. The ceiling of auditorium is impressive"
