All questions will be at the bottom. Hello! I'm travelling to Switzerland this May and since I don't plan on dying I wanted to get some opinions on the Allmenalp Via Ferrata. I've never done a Via Ferrata before and I've been heavily considering doing one. Since it's my first…

Swiss Via Ferrata
Hello :) I am visiting Switzerland in early September from the U.S. and am trying to decide on a via ferrata. I'm torn between Daubenhorn and Jegihorn, travel time is about the same. I want a challenge and thrill, but also to stay safe. I have been rock climbing for 18 years…

Hi all. I'm going for week to Switzerland and then straight to Austria for second week. Can anyone recommend some good campsites close to via ferrata? I'm going to travel by car, at the end of August/begging of September. I stayed in Cortina di Ampezzo in Italy, and it was…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the absolutely breathtaking, 'out of this world' scenery and the rewarding experience of reaching the summit restaurant. The climb itself is described as challenging and adventurous, offering a significant adrenaline rush. However, some find the via ferrata itself 'so-so' in terms of technical difficulty, with many single peg foot pegs, and note that wet conditions can make it significantly harder.
"Gets REALLY busy (go a lot earlier than 9:30am on a Sunday), but aside from that the views are worth it! 7 CHF for parking at the trailhead. The via ferrata itself is so-so, mostly just a lot of single peg foot pegs with no hand pegs (so if you want a challenge, you can try to not use the cable and use the rock for your hands). The view from the top and along the walk off back down to the car is impressive!"

"I am not one who leaves reviews much but this experience is one in which I will remember for the rest of my life, personally I have never rock climbed outdoor before and this was my first time doing it
It was such a rush, the feeling of looking down and seeing the ground 100's of meters below was intense
The scenery is out of this world and possibly some of the most beautiful nature I have seen thus far in my life
when you finally make it to the top you are rewarded with a nice little restaurant which serves drinks and 3 dishes, picture of the dishes is below
I practice photography and had my Leica with me, I hope you enjoy these photos

"I did this when the rocks were wet and slippery and it was not fun. That was the max limit of difficulty I can do. But I would do it again if it was dry."
